Since its inception in 1998 The Cootamundra Sports Leadership Foundation has operated an annual sports leadership camp for 14 – 18 year old potential leaders from across a large geographic catchment area of NSW.

The purpose of the camp is to provide both leadership and personal development skills for the participants with a view sharpening their skills as the future potential leaders of their communities.

THE GREAT QUESTION IS ...

Where do our young sports leaders learn the many skills required to inspire and get the best out of a team of very disparate individuals?

Do they learn from a trusted mentor, or a number of other influences, or did they just have to rely on their own natural abilities?

Sadly we would suspect that the latter is probably the truth in the majority of cases.

The following questions would, then, seem to be-

How many potential young leaders have we lost because they never had the opportunity to learn the required skills?

How much better could those who have emerged be if they had the opportunity to learn leadership skills early in their careers?

Please feel free to browse our site and find out more about this magnificent opportunity for young leaders across the State.

Our next camp is on 28th & 29th Nov 2009
